Cool stuff we’ve been doing

Posted on April 24, 2015 by Jenny Posted in Uncategorized .

Here’s a bit of a catch up of all (ok,some!) of the cool things we’ve been doing lately.

The boys made lemonade

image

Which they insisted we all share

image

It was really good!

We went olive picking

image

image

image

image

There’s been lots of dressing up

image

image

image

Cooking and eating delicious food!

image

image

image

image

image

image

Bath time fun

image

image

Cuddles with Papa

image

A bit of Bushwalking

image

On one of which the boys found these snake skins!

image

image

We rode cardboard boxes down a steep Hill in East perth

image

image

That was awesome!

And a bit of game playing

image

image

image

Probably much more, but that’s all I got for now :)

The dehydrator

Posted on April 24, 2015 by Jenny Posted in Uncategorized .

Mark and I bought a dehydrator a month or so ago.
So now we’re making beef jerky, dried fruit, kale chips, semi dried tomatoes…
It’s wonderful!

The boys love it too.
Just after we got it they were utterly eager to test it out.
Here is the very first use of our dehydrator ever:

First we made a list of the process

image

Followed the points

image

And ticked them off as we went along

image

Talked about this stuff too

And waited for many hours.

I have no picture of the end product :)

But the journey was the funnest part anyway!

Skatepark!

Posted on April 23, 2015 by Jenny Posted in Uncategorized .

So the boys have been riding their scooters for a long time now, but never at the skatepark!

We’ve been to lots of skateparks over the last couple of years or so, when there was no one else there.
The boys would climb up the ramps, and slide down, and even make their scooters go down.
I think it was all experimenting and testing or the physics of the  skatepark!

Then the other week we went to a park with Charlie and Jonny, all the boys had their scooters, and there happened to be a skatepark.
And suddenly they just went for it!

image

image

And a new passion was born :)

We went back a few days later

image

And for the last few days we’ve been to the big esplanade skatepark right in Fremantle, for hours every day!

They’re learning more every day!

At the moment they’re still using their 3 wheelers, which are great for riding on the footpath, but really not for the skate ramp.
I’m thinking they’ll be ready to start with the 2 wheelers soon, they are so much better for the skate park!

Can’t wait :)

P.S. Nancy, the wonderful woman, bought the boys some skate shoes yesterday!
They love them sooooo much :)
Are Not taking them off, and just so happy with them.
Leo took his to bed tonight.
First tried wearing them, but too uncomfortable under the covers.
Then put them next to the bed, but couldn’t see them well enough.
Picked them up to hold and caress them, softly talking to them.
“You are just so cool and magical! I love you guys so much! You are so awesome. I will wear you forever, until I real true die.”

Nancy is so wonderful :)

How utterly charming is that Leo!

Posted on April 19, 2015 by Jenny Posted in Uncategorized .

Leo lately has been the most utterly charming and lovely little guy you could imagine!

He’s on a love trip, and it’s so beautiful :)

He spends most of his days cuddling and kissing me, and sometimes selected others.
It seems that I get a big kiss and a cuddle about every minute, with lots and lots of sweet talk.

“Now mum, I’m gonna steal something from you! ” (creeps nearer with dramatical evil-yet-excited happy grin) “in gonna steel….” (big lip smacking kiss on the cheek) “a kisssss!” (Dramatical excitement and sparkling eyes)

Or, every day, many times: “mum, you’re a hundred and one beautiful! No, actually, you’re a hundred, times a hundred, times a hundred…” (this continues for a solid minute or so) “… times a hundred beautiful!”
“Thank you my love! And you are sooo handsome! ” :)

“Mum, I will kiss you and cuddle you aaall daaay looong!”

image

“Actually, I will kiss you and cuddle you until I real true die.
Until I’m a skeleton.
And until you’re a skeleton.
And when we’re both skeletons I will still kiss you and cuddle you.
Aaall daaay loong! ”
:)

He has also figured out to do this when I’m grumpy with him.
Oh, and this:

image

And it works!

Yesterday we went to Bunnings to buy some rope.
The boys did NOT behave appropriately, and didn’t listen when I asked them to stop, and in the end I was pissed. Very.

So I was grumpy and angry and not nice, and in the car I had a big rant about “blah blah I’m so frustrated, I can’t take you anywhere, you’re such big and awesome boys now, but sometimes I feel like,  blah blah, nag”
(I was tired and sick with a cold, and somewhat overeacting)

Leo listened politely, tried to tell me a few times how beautiful I am, and said “Well, mum, I just want to say thank you for saying that we’re big and awesome boys. Thank you for that! ”
So charmingly and politely and friendly.

Such interesting social skills!

My little affectionate guy.

Posted on April 19, 2015 by Jenny Posted in Uncategorized .

The other week Ethan went to Jason and Jazz’s house for a bit, and in their pantry he spotted an old gingerbread house kit.

Jazz brought it back home for us!

Here is how we spent that evening:

Happy easter!

Posted on April 5, 2015 by Jenny Posted in Uncategorized .

A very happy easter everyone!

We had the loveliest easter Sunday in forever :)!

On Saturday night I had two very eager easter egg painters

image

image

Of course those eggs needed to be sampled!

image

Easter Sunday kicked off with an easter egg hunt at Maria’s house, and a little later the easter bunny had come to our house as well!

image

One of the little surprises were these awesome rocket balloons that I found at kmart for $2

Best. Fun.  Ever!

Check it out:

Here’s a Leo bunny

For lunch Maria had cooked a feast, and we all went to Manning Park to enjoy an easter picnick

image

image

image

image

It was wonderful!

Packed full of people, but we had such a wonderful time!
The boys played and had lots of fun :)
The amazing rocket balloons entertained them for about an hour, as well as a crowd of about 20 kids who watched every rocket go off with big cheers and laughter!

image

image

Ethan was so lovely and decided to share some of his balloons with some kids.
Oh the joy!

Our day was utterly wonderful, and we stayed at the park all afternoon :)

Yay easter!

image

P.s. Here is Ethan enjoying a hot cross bun!
It’s a traditional easter bun that only sells this time of year.
Yum :)
